Welcome to X-Men: Unhinged Evolution!

We are an alternate universe X-Men: Evolution roleplaying game that accepts canon/original characters and fun, creative writers. The time is set before season 1.

Mutants are not yet known to the public, but when superpowers are in the hands of hormonal teenagers who knows how long that will last. Professor Xavier is doing his best to delay the process by homing these young mutants and teaching them to control their powers. Magneto and Mystique are doing something similar.

So far, the only mutants living at the Xavier Institute are Ororo and Logan, whereas the Brotherhood of Bayville Boarding House is virtually unoccupied.
Who will be next? Who will be the X-Men? Who will be the Brotherhood?

You decide.

Happy roleplaying!

Bayville gets slammed with a snow storm in early February and as such the high school is closed for a couple of days. Due to inclement weather, there will be no school February 6th and February 7th. Shovel out your vehicles then run back inside to warm up by the fire with some cocoa.

Don't forget that Winter Break is happening the week of February 20th through the 24th!

THE Rules
user posted image

As rules, they are to be obeyed. Should they be broken, you will be banned from the site indefinitely. Whether a player gets banned or leaves the game on his or her own accord, characters lost as a result will become adoptable, their IC history remaining intact. We will write these IC histories in the form of a brief summary and post them in the "Cerebro Files" forum to make it easier for players to bring them back to the game.

So, yeah, before I begin going down the to-do list, I'd like to say a few (or more) words...

Here at X-Men: Unhinged Evolution, we aim to make the atmosphere of this game friendly, fun and chill. Please, take your stress and negativity elsewhere.

Drama should be confined to the IMAGINARY world that we will create through the roleplaying of our characters. OOC drama will not be tolerated.

If you ever do happen to have a problem with another member or the board itself, contact a staff member through PERSONAL MESSAGING and we'll solve the problem from there.

Understood? Great! Now keep reading.
Rule #1: Account Name. Please register with your character’s full name (first name and last name only please, nicknames preferred). Example: Kitty (or Katherine) Pryde. Usernames like XManFanFreak or TreeHugger64 are absolutely not acceptable (even though I really do love X-Men and trees).

Rule #2: R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Kind of obvious from what I pointed out earlier about this being a friendly environment.

Rule #3: Plagarism. Don't even get me started about this. Having had work ripped from me before, anyone who steals another person's work and uses it as their own will be immediately banned. We are all writers here, people. Not thieves. Everything should be in your own words.

Rule #4: Rated R. Although centered around the life of teenagers, this is a mature board so don’t get offended if you read something violent or sexual. Just be realistic and not too graphic. Sex scenes must be faded out. As a mature board, members must be 16 years old or older to join.

Rule #5: God-moding. Another player's character is not yours to control, even if your character may have mind control powers (permission would be needed from the player in this case), nor can you surpass the limits set on your character's mutant powers during the application process.

You can kill off your character if you want, but please let an admin know first before you do something so drastic and potentially unnecessary because it *will* affect the IC world. In the case of canons, it affects the OOC world, as well, as it prevents future players from picking up those killed characters.

Oh, and another form of god-moding is making your character "perfect," These flawless or nearly flawless characters will be rejected during the application process, as they lack any depth or realism.

Rule #6: Word Count. We don't have one. It goes against our whole philosophy of "quality over quantity." However, from my experience, writing any less than two or three paragraphs usually shows that the player hasn't sufficiently thought out his or her character's thoughts/feelings in response to the environment.

Rule #7: Canon AND Original Characters. Both are allowed and encouraged equally. We are an AU (alternate universe) roleplaying board, creating our OWN seasons of the TV show, X-Men: Evolution, so it doesn't matter! Note that most characters should be around the ages of 11-17, with few exceptions (PM a staff member if you want to be one of those exceptions before applying) or blow us away with your application.

You must have at least finished a thread with one character before you can apply for another one! Or PM an admin for special permission. This is to ensure that your character is being developed and not neglected. If you're no longer interested in playing a character, you can drop that character at any time.

Also, we only accept original characters with original powers. We only accept original characters with original powers. If you want a power a canon character has, you can either 1) come up with some sort of twist to make it different or 2) apply for that canon character. Better PM an admin first before creating an OC to avoid having to make drastic changes later on.

Rule #8: Character Powers. Like in the TV show, in this universe almost all characters are younger than their comic book counterparts and, therefore, have less experience with their powers. So we want to see LOTS of limitations placed on their mutant powers, at least to start off with. This is also to encourage character development.

Rule #9: Activity. Please complete one in character thread per character you play each month of game time. This does not mean you have to have a long thread or many posts, but you should at least have your character active during the month. If something comes up, we all lead busy real lives, just please make the players you are threading with aware of the circumstances so accommodations can be made.

Rule #10: Have fun! Post plot ideas, contact other members, do everything you can not to break this rule! tongue.gif
Thanks for reading! And we hope you decide to become a part of our fun, friendly and chill writing community!

Addendum #1: While signature banners are not required, all players should have at least an 200x300 avatar of their character/playby up by the time they are accepted into the game! Contact an admin if you cannot make one yourself, though it might not be as fancy. Using canon character images from the show or comics in gifs and/or signature banners is permitted, but never required.

Addendum #2: The staff promises to review submitted applications in under 72 hours. 1-2 stamps from an ADMIN must be given before the application can be accepted. Just because the character application is accepted, however, doesn't mean the player is. That doesn't happen until after the player passes his or her character audition (see application template for more info).

Addendum #3: Applicants are given up to two-three chances to revise their character application if we ask for edits to be made, or it gets discarded, and that you have up to three days to make these revisions unless you request extra time, or it gets discarded.
