Welcome to X-Men: Unhinged Evolution!

We are an alternate universe X-Men: Evolution roleplaying game that accepts canon/original characters and fun, creative writers. The time is set before season 1.

Mutants are not yet known to the public, but when superpowers are in the hands of hormonal teenagers who knows how long that will last. Professor Xavier is doing his best to delay the process by homing these young mutants and teaching them to control their powers. Magneto and Mystique are doing something similar.

So far, the only mutants living at the Xavier Institute are Ororo and Logan, whereas the Brotherhood of Bayville Boarding House is virtually unoccupied.
Who will be next? Who will be the X-Men? Who will be the Brotherhood?

You decide.

Happy roleplaying!

Full Name: Unknown (Technically: James Howlett)
    Nickname(s): Logan
    Alias(es): Logan
    Age: 180+
    DOB: Unknown

    Classification: Mutant
    Codename: Wolverine
    Alliance: X-Men
Evo Canon, Comics Canon or Original: Canon

Place of residence: Canada; but heading back to Bayville, New York
    Occupation: Adventurer
    Year in school: None; teacher

    [Appearance]

    Height: 5'3
    Weight: 300+ lbs
    Hair: Black
    Eyes: Brown
    Skin: Caucasian

    Build:
Despite his small size, Logan's physique is astoundingly large with the muscle tone on his body. Rippling biceps, enlarged triceps, rounded pecks, firm gluts, chiseled abdomen, thick thighs, and the rest all equally large and bulging, Logan is by all means not a bodybuilder. His physique suggests he works out extensively, but his musculature doesn't make him look monstrous or out of proportion. He carries himself with confidence, but does have a slight slouch as if the weight of the world is on his shoulders. He also carries an aura of danger around him, from the way he scowls to his ease of movements.
    Dress:
Wolverine's typical attire involves faded jeans, cowboy boots, large belt buckle, and a cowboy hat. His shirts range from solid colored t-shirts to a brown, leather jacket. His uniform is a solid shade of gold with angular black accents from the bottom of his chest to the top of his ankles. His skullcap has become synonymous with his Wolverine persona, with two large black peaks that extend from the facial covering and emotionless-white eyes. His gold gloves reach to mid-forearm and have three metallic protrusions at the back of his hands where his foot long claws extend, three on each hand.
Other: Logan likes to scowl. A lot.

    Play-By: Hugh Jackman

    [Psychological Profile]

Likes: Hard beverages, making people work for what they want, a good-old-fashioned brawl
Dislikes: Stuck-up bratty teenagers, not having a hard drink nearby, Sabretooth

Goals: Opening himself up to others, taming his temper, figuring out his past
Fears: Losing his humanity, unable to protect those he cares for, aging while everyone else around him is dying

    Strengths: Reliable, hard-working, trustworthy
Weaknesses: Lone-wolf mentality, reputation proceeding him, knowing when to stop

    Best subject: History
    Worst subject: Art
Extracurriculars: Adult things that young teenagers shouldn't do

    General Personality:
One word to describe Logan's personality? Gruff. Wolverine is a no non-sense man. Either he tells you like it is or he'll ignore you completely. Logan's personality does side with the more brusque and dangerous when he approaches newcomers. He's likely to forgo all standards of greeting like: "Hi, I'm Logan, what's your name?" to simply say "Hey," and get to the point of his conversation. Deep within, Logan struggles with his own humanity. While he may intentionally act gruff and animalistic, he secretly desires to be more mundane at times and to be more approachable. But the more he thinks about being around people, the more he cares less to do so, and he finds himself in a loop of caring then not caring, which can psychologically beat him down. His personality can easily clash with the more uptight people, and he often finds himself in arguments and spats--sometimes just to prove his point, and other times because he fells like being an asshole.

When not around people and in his own element, Logan is far more approachable and at ease. Nature to him is a natural sedative. The more trees and earthly smells he surrounds himself with, the more relaxed he is. But on the flip-side, the more he stays in his environment, the less he wants to go back to civilization, thus starting the loop of caring and not caring. Logan does carry a soft side for children, certain people, and animals. Despite his gruff appearance, Logan is easily capable of getting on the level of a child and making sure they're safe and taken care of. The same can be said for those he deeply cares for, which is few and far in-between. When it comes to animals, Logan feels a natural affinity towards them due to their wild behavior. But he also knows the extent of hunt or be hunted, and should humans come to hunt animals, he doesn't care as long as it's a fair fight.

At his very core is an animalistic side that is apart of his mutation. This animalistic side forces him to become violent, savage, and bloodthirsty should he unleash it. All humanity ceases to exist and all he sees is red, unaware of his actions until he comes to. He hates this side of him, and abhors the struggle to keep it tame. He's seen too many people give-way to the feral side and never wants to end up being like them. Should he be struggling, that's when Logan becomes the most violent to those he cares for. Yelling, shoving, stomping away, most people might see him as throwing a tantrum, but in truth, he's trying to keep his humanity from being overwhelmed. Because of this, Logan has gained a liking for solitude behavior. It's easier to tame the beast alone than it is among people.

    [Abilities]

    Mutant Power(s):
Wolverine's basic senses are very acute compared to a normal person. His sense of smell is increased to a level where he can seek out others within an immediate area by personal scent, differentiate between human, sex, animal, object, substance (such as gas or poison), organize the scents to a varying level in his mind for recognition, and use a scent akin to a walking path to where a person is hiding. His sense of sight is beyond 20/20, capable of reaching a 40/20 vision where his eyes are specifically enhanced to help him see more light in the darkness. His sense of hearing has increased to a point where he can hear whispers as clear as if someone was speaking to him nearly sixty feet away.

Logan's healing factor has suppressed his age, allowing him to look forty in his appearance, yet truthfully being over 100 years old. Any minor wound, such as a bruise, paper cut, or scratch would heal instantly. With adamantium in his body, a wound on the level of a stab wound or second-degree burn would take minutes to heal. Gun shots, third-degree burns, broken bones and other serious inflictions can take around ten minutes to heal (now depending on how serious the wounds are). Internal damage fluctuates depending on the severity of the issue, a five to forty-five minute healing scope. Wolverine can restore lost limbs and internal organs, now reaching an hourly range for healing if he manages to survive. Essentially, Logan can heal any affliction upon his body within a given time range, depending on the severity and number of inflictions. The more inflictions, the slower his healing factor will work. Without adamantium in his body, his healing factor would increase in efficiency where he can heal much faster, where hours would become minutes. Any type of normal toxin or illness is immediately metabolized and will not affect Logan in any way. The only sedative known to briefly cause Wolverine to stumble is an elephant tranquilizer, but not even that could stop him from combat.

His healing factor has also increased Wolverine's strength, endurance, speed, and reflexes. His strength range is 2 to 5 tons at pique exertion (his normal being around 600 pounds); he's able to last hours longer before going into exhaustion than a normal human being; his speed enhancements counter the weight of his adamantium skeleton, which equalizes him to have the speed of a normal human; and his reflexes allow him to notice simpler things and act accordingly like immediately ducking as soon as he hears a gunshot fired, instead of a normal second delay.

Wolverine was born with three bone claws in both of his arms that he can physically shoot out of the areas between his knuckles to extend exactly one foot. The wounds created are instantly healed thanks to his healing factor. Now every bone in Wolverine's body is coated in adamantium, the strongest known substance on Earth. His once bone claws are adamantium blades, where he is able to destroy nearly anything with a single swipe depending on its density. A tree is much more likely to fall after a single cut than a thick iron door.

Biggest Drawback(s): His ultimate desire to destroy Sabretooth; he may stop at nothing--even if a student gets in his way--to destroy that man.

    Non-mutant power(s):
Wolverine knows and has mastered several fighting styles over the years. He's trained in stealth, firearms, defensive combat, pilot training, mechanical engineering (such as fixing jets, cars, and motorcycles), offensive combat, survival, meditation, and various other skills such as multiple languages. With his enhanced senses, he's also been trained to detect when someone's lying by listening to their pulse or watching their eyes.

    [Background Check]

    Hometown: Alberta, Canada
    Birthplace: Unknown
Family: None (unaware of X-23 [female clone])

Criminal Record: Not that he's aware of, but he knows he's done questionable things in the past.

History: (Cited from: X-Men Evolution Wiki)
Little is known of the feral X-Man called Wolverine. His accelerated healing makes his age impossible to determine. Rumors abound in the theories about what he has done and been through, most of them originating from his own tampered memories. It is known that in World War II he fought alongside Captain America, protecting the Allied troops as well as freeing those held by the Nazi SS. When the two broke into Auschwitz, the first person they rescued was a young boy named Erik Lensherr.

Then, sometime in the mid-to-late 60's, he was one of many subjects of a cruel experiment known as Weapon X. During this project, he worked with a man who would become his major rival, known as Sabretooth. The rivalry of the two is so violent, that one time Sabretooth mused at the thought of it being their destiny that one of the two would destroy the other.

After Wolverine liberated himself from this project, he spent years roaming the Canadian wilderness, until he was found by two trappers, who brought him to a wrestling match in which he fought a bear. The video of that fight was taped by Magneto, who showed it to his then-partner, Charles Xavier. Xavier used his Cerebro unit to locate Logan and sent his new student Ororo to find him. Ororo arrived just as Magneto himself tried to recruit Wolverine, but Logan opted to join Xavier's cause.

After training and listening to Charles's teachings, Logan found himself in a position where he felt it was best to move on, and parted on good terms. After some time trying to sort through his past, and not coming any closer to finding answers, he was contacted by Xavier once more and asked to come back to help train newer students. Logan is now on his way to Bayville to help train the newer generation of students.

    Preferred character audition scene:
I want action and emotion in his audition scene, to both showcase Logan's ability to fight and his conflicting behavior when it comes to people he cares about. As a set-up, Sabretooth kidnaps Kitty and Wolverine fights to get her back. Sabretooth and Logan duel, a gruesome battle, but Kitty makes a fair point explaining if Wolverine kills Sabretooth, Wolverine will never regain his humanity. The inner turmoil inside Logan, to kill or not to kill, parallels his constant battle with his feral nature.

I'd want to push the boundary a bit, have Logan win the fight and have his fist against Sabretooth's head, teeth gritted, lips in a snarl, and seconds away from popping his claws into Victor's brain. For the first time, Logan can win. He's never been so close to that moment--he can taste the tang of Victor's blood in the air, but in the back of his head is a voice screaming at him not to do it. Creed's murder would cost him everything, but would that everything be worth it if he knew for sure Sabretooth would never hurt someone he cares for again?

To answer that question: I'd want him to pop the claw. Logan has always been self-sacrificing when it comes to keeping people he cares for safe, but to keep inline with the tone of the board, he'd most likely not pop the claw and come up with another way to keep Sabretooth occupied for a long, long while.
Plans or plots you would like to involve your character in: Logan has been gone for awhile, so he's going to have to acclimate with new people. He doesn't always mesh well with new people, so I'd love to see a student or two thoroughly ignore him and get under his skin. I'd also like his canon pairings to come to fruition, specifically with Kitty and X-23, but I also want his interactions with original characters to be just as well deserved. No specific plans, but a lot of broader ones to see where they go.

Welcome to XUE, Sax! Logan was such an integral part of X-Men: Evolution, and we're excited to see that reflected in the game. Adenine here with your first review.

POWERS:

His healing factor has also increased Wolverine's strength, endurance, speed, and reflexes. His strength range is 800 lbs to 25 tons.

25 tons is too much. I'd say 2-5 tons max.

Operation Rebirth - 29 logan

Also, the last line of the history needs to be edited. Since Xavier has only just created the X-Men team monicker, he could not have previously "left the X-Men." It would be more appropriate for our canon history if, after he and Storm 'graduated' as Xavier's premiere students, Logan left for some time. In that time, Xavier and Storm were faced with the responsibility to open a school, and Xavier enlisted Logan's help to train these X-Men. Instead of leaving "the X-Men", it might be more appropriate to say he left Xavier's.

Everything else looks great! Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
