Welcome to X-Men: Unhinged Evolution!

We are an alternate universe X-Men: Evolution roleplaying game that accepts canon/original characters and fun, creative writers. The time is set before season 1.

Mutants are not yet known to the public, but when superpowers are in the hands of hormonal teenagers who knows how long that will last. Professor Xavier is doing his best to delay the process by homing these young mutants and teaching them to control their powers. Magneto and Mystique are doing something similar.

So far, the only mutants living at the Xavier Institute are Ororo and Logan, whereas the Brotherhood of Bayville Boarding House is virtually unoccupied.
Who will be next? Who will be the X-Men? Who will be the Brotherhood?

You decide.

Happy roleplaying!

Germaine found out yesterday that his soccer career had not completely ended since moving to Bayville. There was still hope. A chance for him to go pro. Just like his father.

A wide grin spread across his face at the thought.

He had already spoken with the head coach of the soccer team. The season had already started. Tryouts had already happened, but because of his experience and begging the coach told him to swing by practice... tomorrow. And he needed to prepare.

Sure, there was still the large tiny possibility that, if he did get on the team, he may end up accidentally setting another player – or even his own teammate – on fire, as he had when his powers first manifested... But it was a risk he was willing to take. Anything to play soccer again.

Besides, he knew how to extinguish flames now... kind of.

Either way, Ger felt revitalized, filled with a newly found motivation that had propelled him to go for a run around the boarding house grounds. More than a run; he was doing laps. As many as he could. As fast as he could...

Dressed in a cotton gray tank top, bright blue athletic shorts and bright yellow cleats, he tried to focus on nothing other than his own breathing as he sprinted, breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth, just as Pa had taught him. The air was frigid, painfully so, and the grass frozen. He could feel his lungs to constrict with every breath he took, but he didn't care.

He had more than a figure to maintain, he mused to himself; he had skills to preserve, endurance to build up. Just because he was a 'mutant' now did not mean that was all he was. He could still have human dreams. He could still be—

OOF!

It had been a good two or three days now since Tak had settled in at the boarding house and she was loving it! Sure it wasn't quite as intimate as her first foster home since there were other kids living here but the saving grace about that had been that for the most part they all had their own special abilities and did their own thing. The blue woman that her new friend, housemate and....Brother in boarding had introduced her to was welcoming and promised to keep her safe from her hellish foster parents. She even got her own room and there was plenty of food to eat! Not that Tak was much of an eater but still! Needless to say, things had taken a turn for the better.

So much so that she felt comfortable enough to start practicing with ink again and this morning that was exactly what she had planned on doing before tackling a pile of homework.

Having been accustomed to waking up at five in the morning most days, Tak was one of the first people up and moving around, even after sleeping in until seven. After having a quiet oatmeal breakfast and snacking on a few pens, Tak set out for the front lawn.

It was a cold and frosty morning that truthfully made Tak want to crawl back into bed beneath a warm blanket but this would be perfect practice for adjusting to the cold in ink form. So after jogging a few laps around the yard, Tak melted down into a dark puddle to do the same thing.

As ink, the cold was more profound but her reflexes were faster this way and she burned a high amount of calories. So Ink went slithering through the grass, around on the sidewalk and even over the contour of the house, and oh how thrilling it was! After just one lap, Tak had completely forgotten how cold she was and kept sluicing about. After perhaps an hour of doing so, Ink felt about ready for a nap. With her body fluids churning about her liquified system as one, her sweat served as a warm lubricant to the cold and Ink slithered over to the thickest patch of grass she could find. She condensed herself into the densest cluster of liquid mass she could maintain without turning whole and human again and formed a hard shell over, between and around the grass. Doing this required a fair amount of ink and energy but it was a form and matter she could meditate into. And she was able to do it so well...Ink actually managed to doze off.

That was until someone's giant foot smacked into her liquified ribs and with a hard gasp for air, oxygen filled her lungs as quickly as she wheezed it out and inflated back to human form as she scrambled out of her makeshift fetal position. Huffing for air, she groaned out as she felt and somewhat saw someone trip over her. in a daze, Tak sprawled on her back.

"Ayah!........Oh.......Sorry....."

In her peripheral vision, Tak lulled her head to try and look at whom she mutually collided with and her eyes widened a bit. Oh no.... Wasn't that Germaine...?
