Welcome to X-Men: Unhinged Evolution!

We are an alternate universe X-Men: Evolution roleplaying game that accepts canon/original characters and fun, creative writers. The time is set before season 1.

Mutants are not yet known to the public, but when superpowers are in the hands of hormonal teenagers who knows how long that will last. Professor Xavier is doing his best to delay the process by homing these young mutants and teaching them to control their powers. Magneto and Mystique are doing something similar.

So far, the only mutants living at the Xavier Institute are Ororo and Logan, whereas the Brotherhood of Bayville Boarding House is virtually unoccupied.
Who will be next? Who will be the X-Men? Who will be the Brotherhood?

You decide.

Happy roleplaying!

Ger was seated on the edge of his bed, a look of anger plastered on his face. He clutched onto his bed sheets as though for dear life, utilizing every ounce of mental strength he had not to burn something. He shut his eyes, afraid to look at anything. If he did, all hell would break loose – literally – and then, like always, he’d have to deal with the consequences. The disappointed look on Mystique's face. The other members of the Brotherhood making fun of him for not being able to control his powers…

No, Ger thought, then took a deep, calming breath. Not gonna happen.

Slowly, his eyes fluttered open and, just like that, he felt better. Less angry. But he didn’t want to take his chances. He had to get out of the Boarding House, at least for a little while. A walk would be nice, or even a run. Yeah, definitely a run. That always helped him clear his head.

Without giving it a second thought, he stood up from his bed, slipped on a pair of sneakers and shuffled out of his room. He kept his head down, trying not to focus on anything else but the front door as he walked through the hallway and down the stairs. The last thing he wanted was a conversation. Not that he didn’t like his teammates… Now was just not the time.

As soon as he stepped outside, he was hit with a wave of cool, snowy air. Wincing, Ger pushed forward, not wanting to go back to his room to get his jacket. Even if it meant freezing to death. Besides, he wouldn’t be shivering for long.

Lap after lap, Ger ran along the paved walkway that encircled the Boarding House, trying not to think about much of anything. Especially not his father. But after awhile, the cold became too much for him to handle, the brisk wind whipping against his arms and face, freezing dry whatever sweat he had managed to produce.

Ger slowed to a walk and stuffed his chilled hands into his warm pockets. “I hate winter,” he grumbled angrily under his steamy breath.

She watched. Perched up in the window on the second floor that seemed even higher due to the sloping landscape beyond- she just watched. The TV in the living room was busted again and that was where she preferred to sleep, sprawled out on the couch while reruns rotated through the hours and quelled her busy mind until usually noon. It had been an... interesting few weeks. She still didn't know how she fit in yet, only that she was supposed to be 'safe' here. Not that she didn't feel safe to begin with. She was Sally-Motherfuckin'-Blevins.

Anyway- there were a lot of thoughts going for her right now as she peered out of the window wistfully dressed in an off-the-shoulder fuzzy grey sweater, black leggings, and a crisp white tank top underneath. A mug of hot coffee was affixed to her hand. These thoughts changed with each round that Germaine passed by, angrily running laps around the yard in the dead of a snow storm. The first was, 'why in the hell is that fool running around with no appropriate attire?'.

Lap after lap, she descended from bemusement to bored to slightly irritated. Finally, she started pacing around the room looking for assorted things that she could do to rectify the current situation that was starting to get on her nerves.

The window propped and with Sally leaning out, she tried to make a game of timing his runs. She dropped a mitten first, aiming for his head. Miss. She wrapped the second one in a tan, knitted scarf, heaving it out a little later because of the added weight. It plopped into the snow, disappearing in an impression just behind him. "Damn."

This time, she waited. His resistance was evidently starting to wear down and he slowed to a walk. And looked cold as fuck, as per fucking a blizzard. She rolled her eyes and dropped the bomb. A heavy, quilted winter jacket that was dingy as fuck, smelled weird, and had stuffing coming out of the sleeves. She dropped it early so that it landed in front of him. She rested her chin against her palm with her elbow standing on the chill window sill. "You mad, huh?"

She waited for a second for him to notice the jacket she'd dropped even though he probably wouldn't find the gloves or scarf in the snow mounds until probably May. "Put your dumb ass in the coat and come inside."

A snow day was a one-way ticket to sleeping in guilt free. Not that Nolan ever set an alarm, but getting the notification early in the morning was a blissful feeling. No school. No worries. Back off to dreamland. At about 10:30 when his body woke up him up naturally he actually dragged himself out of bed. Snow days were times of celebration. They were worth getting up before noon for. What a wonderful reason to sit around and do nothing all day.

Nolan trudged down the stairs in his pajama bottoms and a stained white t-shirt. Sitting on the counter in the kitchen was a cold pot of coffee and it smelled so good he couldn’t help but pour himself a mug. He pulled a cup out of the sink, gave it a rinse under the tap, and filled it up with the dark brown liquid. Nolan spent a minute rifling through the cupboards and looking on top of the fridge. There wasn’t any Kahlua or Baileys and it was the first strike of negativity against his snow day.

Nolan dragged his feet back up the stairs and saw Sally sitting in the second-floor window. He parked himself beside her with a nod and, “Dude." Then looked outside to see what had caught her attention. There he was…the hothead himself, Germaine. The kid was always doing something over the top and it looked like he chose today to try and become a human snow blower.. “He’s gonna wear himself out and we’re gonna be left to do all the shoveling.” He gulped his cold drink. Was Ger’s bad attitude strike two?

The winds were picking up now and the flakes of snow looked as big as birds. He couldn’t argue with Sally about throwing some winter clothes down for Ger, it was awfully nice of her, but he also wouldn’t put it past Germaine to ignore the offering and start a personal bonfire. He was about to shout down to the teen to encourage him to do so in a joking manner, but saw a figure approaching down the drive. They were bundled up for the most part…and visibility was quickly waning, but he could see it was a woman. He stuck his head out the window behind Sally. “Hey, buddy, better come in quick before Myst – “ Wait. That wasn’t Mystique slogging through the storm at all, “Shit!”

He gave Sally a look of pure terror. “Oh my fuck, oh my shit,” He backed away from the window with such vehemence that his coffee spilled out over the mug and onto the carpet. It was the blonde hair that curled out from under her hat. Her large glasses covering the parts of her face that weren’t hidden by her scarf. Even the way she walked. There was no mistaking it. “Fucking fuck, Sally. That’s my god damned sister out there!” And she was walking right towards the huffing and puffing fire boy.

“Excuse me? Excuse me? Hello, I am looking for someone.”

Strike three. Snow day ruined.

So Benjamin was a mutant. At least that's what the guy called Magneto told him. It was hard to believe, let alone take a guy called something so silly seriously. But e changed into his friend, voice and all. There was video proof trending on his school's Facebook page. It was as hard to deny as to believe.

Having been kicked out of his house, Benjamin took up Magneto's offer when it came to offering a safe place. Apparently it was someplace in New York and there were other super powered kids. He didn't get much else, nor did he bother to ask. It was already awkward looking like a mini Magneto while stuck in a metal pod with the guy.

"Here you are." Erik broke the silence between the two and Ben could feel the sphere touch the ground. Opening up showed they were now in the snowy yard of his new home. At first he just stared at the stupidly ridiculous amount of snow. Around a foot tall at least. Back in the good old state of Texas there were only ever a couple inches if any at all.

His eyes then went to the other two outside who he could only assume were mutants. That's who this place is for, right?

Ben gave a small thanks to Magneto before stepping out and slinging his backpack over his shoulder. The cold air hit him and he buried his chin into the collar of his hoodie. How was that idiot without a jacket out there just fine?

With a grumble that his sneakers and jeans quickly soaked in the cold snow as he walked, he approached the two outside unaware of the audience in the second story window. Once away from Erik, his features once again smoothed into his natural youth.

"Uh, hey." He looked between the two of them with a small wave before stuffing his hands back into his pockets. A quick look over his shoulder, and Magneto was already leaving. So much for someone to introduce them. "This is the Brotherhood or whatever, right?"

As Nolan tripped over himself and spilled coffee all over, Q passed him, heading for the window at a casual meander. He was decked out swanky with a pair of beast ass ear muffs, fuzzy pink inside and rhinestoned outside, a black blazer and snug, black, skinny-fit slacks. The white tee underneath had "Sally's Valleys O_O" in red handwriting. He held a bowl of Fruit Loops - but they were out of milk, and he settled with soaking them in 7-Up. He took a bite as he checked out the window from behind Sally's big ass, luscious hair.

"Your sister's a handsome man." Quentin shot, a slightly satisfied frown with some raised brows. And then he saw the other stranger, the blonde with the chunky glasses. "Oh. She's cute too, in like a Femme Lit One-Oh-One kinda way..."

He looked back at Nolan, who looked like he was about to shit himself. Over a sister. Which was weird as whack.

A simper later, and he dragged his eyes back out the window, back to Nolan, and back out the window again. He squeezed out, next to Sally, leaning his head and Fruit Loops out, though the movement was just slightly too fast, sending a course of cereal and 7-Up spilling down to the snow. "Yo, Bernice!" He belted. "Nolan's in here, come on in!"

He stood and turned back to Nolan. "Bernice," he chuckled through his nose. "Anyway." He leaned back out the window for a moment, "You can come too, Ben. Just ignore the guy running, he's our maid."

Quentin finally stepped back and started toward the steps. "We got another brother," he put, almost bored. "I'll send your sister right up, nerd."

QUOTE (Nolan)
“Shit!”

Eyes widened in a patronizing fashion as she slowly rotated her head towards him. "What.?" She gave off a vocal tone that barely cared. She watched him spazz-dive backwards and spill his coffee all over the perfectly already-stained carpet and offered an inquisitive shake of the everything.

QUOTE (Nolan)
“Fucking fuck, Sally. That’s my god damned sister out there!”

She just sat there suspended for a moment and then brought the coffee to her lips and slurped down a suffocating gulp. She let out a satisfied, overly-loud 'ahhh' in the Coca-Cola refreshing way and shrugged one shoulder. Just the one. "Ok.?" Was this honestly supposed to be what she left Philly for? A household of over-spent teen boys and a litany of mysterious stains. Honestly?

She didn't even flinch as Quentin sparkled up alongside her to snoop out of the window at their apparently-uninvited guest and what was left of Germaine's anger outside, even though he was obscuring her view of a terrified Nolan for a moment. She was used to this, at least.

QUOTE (Quentin)
"Your sister's a handsome man."

She canted a head back towards Quentin, still as silent as she had been. Also totally still trying to figure out why Q insisted that everything was boys, even though that much should've also been obvious, and it was. She had never in her life been called somebody's brother. Before she could get it up mentally to regret asking 'why', there was her answer.

QUOTE (Male Sister)
"Uh, hey."

Ok, NOW she was intrigued. After not paying any attention out of the window this far, you could see actual life fill into her energetic face as she sprung her nosy ass out the window. "Mrs. Peacock was a man?!" Her voice boomed out of her at the first entertaining thing to happen in like a week and was met with the presence of... two unknown figures. The other of which, Quentin was currently shouting at. The sister.

QUOTE (Male Man)
"This is the Brotherhood or whatever, right?"

She boredly looked from the stranger to Q.

QUOTE (Quentin)
"You can come too, Ben. Just ignore the guy running, he's our maid."

Bernice and Ben. Making it equally hilarious and normal to have a telepath around the house, especially if his attention was drawn elsewhere. Sally was not built to withstand that amount of energy for a long period of time. Did she smile, though? No. She stiffened up her lip from where she sat atop the sill and took one more, leaning look outside to get a better look at the newbie non-sister. The sister in question was a swollen ball of laundry and some hair poking out.

QUOTE (Quentin)
"We got another brother,"

Sally tilted her head around in an unsure gesture and dropped her mug out of the window. "You don't-" But before she could finish, he was already bounding down the steps to greet their two newest additions. For a cramped-ass boarding house. She sighed and crossed her arms over her chest and looked over at Nolan. "Alright- It's a slow day, tell me why you puss'd out at your sister..."
